The American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians renews testing agreement with Pearson VUE for most secure access to certification

Bloomington, MN, April 15, 2013 — Family physicians seeking certification and recertification in a range of medicines are set to continue taking examinations through a highly secure and accessible platform, following the renewal of a computer-based testing agreement between the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians (AOBFP) and Pearson VUE.

Delivered across the U.S through Pearson Professional Centers - company-owned and -operated centers with design and security innovations that satisfy the most demanding requirements for testing programs – examinations measure knowledge, skills and abilities required of family physicians to make competent judgments in the care of patients.

Established in 1972, the Board recognizes eligible practicing family physicians for examination to become certified by the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) in family medicine and osteopathic manipulative treatment, as well as in other certification of added qualification fields.

Frank Bonifacio, DO, FACOFP dist., AOBFP Chair said “The decision to renew our agreement with Pearson VUE was based on its continual provision of high level security and comprehensive reporting capabilities. These services ensure that each test taker has a distraction-free test experience, which results in the provision of in-depth performance data.”

Robert Whelan, CEO and President of Pearson VUE, said: “It is rewarding to help AOBFP healthcare professionals obtain the certification they need to verify the role-specific knowledge and skills they have worked so hard to acquire. We are proud to help AOBFP professionals progress and reassure the public with the provision of continued quality care.”
