Canadian Society for Exercise (CSEP) signs computer-based agreement with Pearson VUE

BLOOMINGTON, MN, November 7, 2013 — Pearson VUE, the leader in high-stakes computer-based testing, announced today that it has signed an exclusive, multi-year testing agreement with the Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology (CSEP). The agreement transitions the CSEP Health & Fitness Program from paper and pencil to computer-based testing for delivery of its certification examinations for personal trainers and exercise physiologists.

The partnership provides the CSEP highly secure test delivery at test centers across Canada and is an exciting time for Pearson VUE as we expand our reach in the Canadian market.

Bridget Lett, Health and Fitness Program Director at CSEP said: “The move to computer-based testing gives our candidates the flexibility to test when they’re ready and at a Pearson VUE test center across Canada. Pearson VUE’s history of delivering exams securely on a global scale, tied with its commitment to service excellence, fits in with our values of providing the highest standards in all our activities.”

Robert Whelan, CEO and President of Pearson VUE, said: “It is with great pleasure we welcome the CSEP to the Pearson VUE family. We are proud to use our world-leading experience, comprehensive and highly secure test center network and industry knowledge to help CSEP candidates certify and improve the health and fitness of Canadians.”

Personal training, exercise, and kinesiology professionals across Canada will be able to take certification exams to become CSEP Certified Personal Trainer® (CSEP-CPT) and CSEP Certified Exercise Physiologist® (CSEP-CEP) from October 2013.
