Board of Certified Safety Professionals announces long-term extension of exam partnership with Pearson VUE

BLOOMINGTON, MN, June 13, 2016 – The Board of Certified Safety Professionals, a not-for-profit organization offering ANSI- and NCCA-accredited certifications for practitioners in the safety profession, has announced a long-term extension of its exam delivery partnership with global computer-based testing leader Pearson VUE.

The new agreement means that the seven professional safety exams – Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Associate Safety Professional (ASP), Occupational Health Safety Technologist (OHST), Construction Health and Safety Technician (OHST), Safety Trained Supervisor (STS), Safety Trained Supervisor Construction (STSC), and Certified Environmental, Safety and Health Trainer (CET) – will continue to be delivered at Pearson VUE’s global test center network.

Dr. Treasa Turnbeaugh, CEO of the Board of Certified Safety Professionals, said: “We have decided to continue our excellent working partnership with Pearson VUE due to the high level of program security it offers, as well as high levels of access and flexibility regarding where and when candidates are able to sit for their exams.”

About the Board of Certified Safety Professionals
The Board of Certified Safety Professionals ( began in 1969 as a peer certification board. It is not a member organization and does not provide services usually offered by member organizations. Membership in any organization is not a requirement for certification. Its sole purpose is to certify practitioners in the safety profession. Safety professionals identify hazards and evaluate them for the potential to cause injury or illness to people or harm of property and the environment. The safety professional recommends administrative and engineering controls that eliminate or minimize the risk and danger posed by hazards.
