Bar Standards Board Certification Testing
Welcome to the registration centre for the Bar Course Aptitude Test (BCAT).
A BCAT pass is one of the core requirements for the vocational component of Bar Training. You will not be able to study the vocational component of Bar Training without it.

How to Register
Registration and scheduling of your BCAT takes place via the Sign in button on this page.
You can take the test from Monday 13 January 2020 until Monday 21 September 2020. Registration for the test is available from Thursday 9 January 2020 until Monday 14 September 2020. The BCAT costs £150 if taken in the UK or EU and £150 if taken in the rest of the world. You pay online at the point of scheduling your test.
You can sit the test in over 100 countries worldwide through Pearson VUE Test centres. Click on the test centre locator button to find your nearest test centre. You will be asked to select a test centre at the point of scheduling your test. You are permitted a maximum of three attempts at the test in one year, starting from the date of your first attempt.

Appointments may be made up to one calendar day prior to the day a candidate wishes to test, subject to availability.
