Advantages of Participating

You will have the opportunity to view and respond to questions that may appear on future test forms for the Texas Educator Certification Examination Program. For the acceptable completion of a pilot test form, participants are offered a $50.00 Barnes & Noble eGift card. Incentives are issued upon verification of the *acceptable completion of each pilot test form. Please allow up to 6 weeks for processing.

Other advantages of pilot test participation include:

  • providing input into an exam that will be taken by future educators,
  • gauging professional knowledge by taking actual test questions, and
  • gaining practical testing experience.

*To be eligible for an incentive, participants must be qualified in the specific field for which they are taking a pilot test and they must complete the pilot test as instructed (participants must answer 25% of the selected-response questions correctly and complete the constructed-response question as directed). Participants may take up to two (2) pilot test forms. Additional incentive requests beyond two (2) pilot test sessions will not be honored.

Pilot Test Information

Each pilot test consists of approximately 50 selected-response (multiple-choice) questions and 1 constructed-response question and is administered during a 135-minute test session. Approximately 20 minutes of the session is dedicated to the presentation of a computer-based testing tutorial and a short survey.

Eligible participants may complete up to two (2) pilot test forms. The second registration can only be scheduled after the first pilot test session is completed (consecutive pilot test appointments are not available).

Pilot test results will be analyzed as group data only and will be kept confidential. Score information will not be provided to participants or institutions.
