Understanding test accommodations
We provide appropriate arrangements to individuals who demonstrate a documented need. Test accommodations are individualised, so we consider them on a case-by-case basis in partnership with your testing programme. Test accommodations may also be known as “special arrangements” or “reasonable adjustments."
Pearson VUE test accommodations may include:
- Extra testing time
- A separate testing room
Approved comfort aids
Our test centres allow the comfort aids listed in the downloadable PDF. On exam day, our test centre staff will ask to visually inspect these items.
Download the list
To request a comfort aid that is not on the list, you must contact email@example.com in advance of the exam to apply for approval.
Testing exceptions for nursing mothers
Pearson VUE supports test-takers that require an exception to breastfeed or express their breast milk during their exam.
Nursing mothers should follow the accommodation request process and also check your testing organisation’s policies prior to scheduling your exam. Please note that your accommodations request may require that you schedule your exam at a test centre that is not your preferred location.
If you prefer to breastfeed, you must do so outside of the testing facility, as children are not allowed in the test centre. Please check your testing organisation’s policies as some programmes do not allow candidates to leave the test centre during an exam. Our team will make reasonable efforts to find you a suitable space to breastfeed if your accommodations request is approved.
Expressing breast milk
If you wish to express breast milk, the Pearson VUE team will make reasonable efforts to find you a suitable space if your accommodations request is approved.
